Ballantynes Retained as Property Advisors to NHS Tayside

Ballantynes have been retained as property advisors to NHS Tayside, acting for them on the sale of some high profile properties.

Sunnyside Hospital near Montrose is now under offer following a successful marketing campaign.

The 26 hectares of land contained the main B listed building dating from 1781 and C listed buildings around it, as well as modern auxiliary buildings and playing fields and an orchard.

The whole site went to a closing date before Christmas and a preferred bidder has now been confirmed – the firm are hopeful the sale will have completed before the Summer.

Meanwhile another closing date has been set for Little Cairnie Hospital in Arbroath.

The site, which is due to be cleared, of just over two hectares is for sale subject to the necessary consents.

Rory Ballantyne says: “There are similar properties in the pipeline: decommissioned cottage hospitals, ancillary buildings and warehouses, which we will be asked to market in the next year or 18 months.”
